I'v e never ra ced in Ireland ex cept w he n I was 17 a nd o n a n a irf iel d despite bein g offered $20 ,000 year in yea r ou t to do so . I used to ra ce a t ' Scarborough because I enjoyed it a nd it was n 't a World Champions hip ra ce. I did not ca ll for a boycott. Why wo u ld I bo ther to lead a riders boycott? T here's no need to ca ll m e Sir Barry, Mr. Sheene will do. Obviously the fact (tha t) th e riders, teams, jou rna lists, et c. vo ted La gu na th e worst G P venue means not h in g ; circuit sale tv and medical facilities both scored ies s than Spa and it was the riders that voted, so sorneone's gOI their wires crossed. It's funn y to see yo u've cro ssed th e fen ce with your opinion on Laguna Seca complete ly ' contradicting what yo u 've said before. Incidentally , you should watch the tape of the Belgian G P last yea r and hea r what I said about Spa. Rega rd in g what Wa yne Ra in ey sa id ; I think Gardner crashed because of the white line, he doesn't. Editor. Cheers for AMA / District 37 Alright, AMA a nd District 37! Ma ke th em show us some rea l evidence for t h e h a ltin g of th ese great desert classics. It's about time we do somethi ng 10 sho w these people we ar e serious abou t our righ ts to ride , and that we too ca re for th e enviro n m ent. I don 't think anyone is out 10 destroy th e en viro n ment, as they might hav e o the rs th ink. This is just o ne step in th e banning o f motorcycles. It must be stopped o r it wi ll advance to more serious threats a nd / o r laws 10 ge t rid of "bikers."
