ma rk . Glen Barr y a nd Mark Fo ster spent most
o f th e ra ce loc ked in a battl e for fourth a n d
fifth. Fost er passed with th ree la p s 10 go as
Barry's tires sta rted going a way. At the lin e,

to th e wire w ith Roberts an d hi s S u zu k i taki ng

in th e Lightweight Gran Prix feature. Kevin

The fir st nigh t Russell won the first heat
in the Open Expert clasS. Ri ck Henson go'
second p u rsued by Rod ney Reynol ds and Tom
Sh ivers.
In the seco nd heal Kit Farely won wit h a
risk y outside pass around ScOll McP herson,
with T om Sherman. Todd Peugh. and J eff
WalleTS cha sing.
In the main event Far ley jumped ,ending
him to rhe ,penalty line, and on the 'seco n d
sta rt McPherson got th e ho leshot . H e kept ,h e
lead for five laps, but when Russell gOI.u nder
him Russell was go ne. Reynol ds got by
McPh erson to h old onlo second. After that
McPherson wa s determi ned to let no one el se
by a nd he held o nto ,hird. Far ley moved
through the pack and passed Sher man for a
fifth pla ce fini sh , bu, cou ld not get Henson,
who finished fo u r,h .

In heat two Farley wo n . followed by Jeff
Wallers. Mcf' herson , Sherman and Rick
Henson. who crashed.
The Expert main was a clean race with
Russell win ning a n d R eynolds scorin g second
despite a broken finger a nd a th ird row sta rt.
Farley was relegated to fourth when Henson
squeezed by for third.
