The popular beach town hit th e gridlock stage on Saturday, due to the combination of race traffic and the hordes of co ll ege students in town for spring break. Traffic was diverted away from town via major .roads and many attendees who weren 't familiar with alternate routes found themselves spending hours in the bumper-to-bumper mess .trying to get to either the Speedway for the Camel Supercross or to the beach. _ Add ress 2 lowing Daytona Cycle Week as far as this publication is concerned. For starters, our computer-based typesetting equipment was "down" during much of the week and then some of our returning staff members either spent much of Sunday night or all of it trying to get from Florida to our headquarters in southern California, due to storms that had closed hub airports, delaying or canceling flights across the country. And if that weren't . . enough, two staff members were delayed for' hours when a bomb threat closed down Los Angeles' Airport on Monday morning. On the following pages you 'll find what - hopefully everything - made it through the pre. print process by our 5 p.m, Monday deadline. Ann: Becklaue Department. P.O. Box 498. Long Beach.
