Davis held a tight lin e forcing pass attempts to be made on th e outide a nd Buchanan was the first victim as he slid off the groove and back into the pack. Bu tler slowed late in the race but still held a good lead at the flag. Aseltine easily won the fir st Expert hea t o ver Day and Roose. Seventeen yea r-o ld Pegram ra n a way with the second heat a hea d of Garth Brow and John Parker. Ingram ha ndily won heat three over Robert Lewis and Erik G ra ybeal , a nd Dan McDon nell used a holeshot to win the las t heat over Rex Fisher and Craig Estell e. It took three laps, but af ter Ingram passed Brow, the first Expert sem i was a runaway. Bro w hel d off the charges of Estelle a nd Day to take second. Aseltine easily won the thi rd semi over Charlie Orr and T erry Poov ey. Dave Hebb gained the last transfer spot over Cory Brink. The final sem i was a no ther easy win for Pegram as he finished well ahead of McDonnell, Roose and Scott Saunders. Saunders held Graybeal off for the last spot in the main. The Expert main was quickl y decided, as Ingram sho t to the front and rode flawlessl y. The battle was for second as Pegram held off the challenges of Aseltine lap after lap. Ingram, who had easily won here o n Sunday, said, " I' ve just changed th e tire air pressure. The track was faster." Aseltine's charge on Pegram slowed lat e in the race and he fin ished third. Craig Estell e finished fourth with Charlie Orr dropping from fifth to seventh on the last lap behind Bro w and McDonnell.
