In the second rnoro, Pri ce jumped out in
front with Lewis second, Cain third and
Donaldson fourth. Lough and Lewis bauled
for the lead but got a lillie too close and
tang led, with both riders going down. Cai n

the moto win and overall victory. Kellis
cruised acro ss the finish line in second, while
DuBose took third over Don ald son a nd Ca ven
Woodruff.

Pennsylvania rider Mike Jones (51) had a successful trip south as he outdueled
Tommy Martin to take the 125 and 250cc Pro class wins at Hillbilly Hills MX.

Pennsylvania resident Mike Jones and local
sta r T o mm y Martin matched wheels at
Hillbilly Hills MX in the 125 and 250cc Pro
divisions. Jones came out on lOp Ixnh times
after taking three out of f OUT moto wins over
Manin.
John Trissel earned close-fought wins over
J oer. Dorsett in the Open B and 30+ classes
whIl e brothers Rodney and Ronnie Frazier
took the 125 and 250cc honors, respectiv ely.
Sha e Bentley claimed double gold in 65cc and
Junior Minlraeing.
Jones. who spent most of the '89 season in
Europe where he won the 250cc F1M Supercross . titl e. is currently visiting friends in
Georgia. The opening laps of 125cc Pro first
moto action saw Jones in lhird position while
Buz Dyer and Tommy Martin wrestled for the
lead. On lap four Dyer and Martin locked bars
and crashed, giving the lead and the evenlual
moto win to Jones aboard his BT Racingbacked Honda. Martin remounted to finish
second over Rob Hanson with Dyer a distanl
sixth.
Smith/ Arai / Alumin ite-backed Jones
grabbed an early lead in mOlD two for the
win and a perfect score. Martin had to fight
his way through traffic and, with two laps
remaining, slipped past Hanson to net a .2·
2 tally over Hanson's 4-3.
The 250cc Pro division was a thriller as the
Jones/Martin debate heated up. Jones and
Martin came away with a molo win each but
J ones' seco nd "m O l O victory garnered top
honors. VPE/ An swer/Pro·Line/Coleman
Designs-backed Martin had to settle for second
over Ross Johnston and Joe Rogers.
The 125cc C co n test came down to a lastlap, winner-take-all battle in the final moto
between Rodney Frazier and Dickie Fountain.

a nd the overall. Fountain had to ~Hl e for
runner-up gold over Cajen Rhodes and Ky
Dykes. Chris Morrow rounded ou t the top five.
ro..hris Harbin took a convi fi(;:i n ~ win over
Runn ie Frazier a nd Kipp Brule' 10 the first
250cc C moto. In moto two, however, Harbin
had to play catch-up wh ile Brul e' and Frazier
wrestled for the lead. Harbin made steady
progress toward the from until he made a lastlap bid to take the lead from Frazier. Harbin
crashed while Framer held the lead to win
with a 2-1 tall y over Brul e's 3-2. Harbin
remounted to post a 1·12 score for sixth
overall.
