By lap th ree, Sta ten had tak en the lead a nd Mu rray was close beh ind. Murra y cu t under the Honda rider, but Sta ten reta lia ted with a pass in th e-next tu rn . Earl y leader Na tvig enco u n tered some problems tha t dropped h im 10 fou rth by th e moto's end. Clowers scooted in to the lead and took the wi n over Albrecht, Shawn Morgan a nd Nat vig. C lowers took th e overall victory a head . o r teamma tes Albrech t an d Natvig. . Jason Shirey g rabbed the ho lesho t o ver Ryan Clark and Joh n Meng in the first 60cc (9-11) moto. Shirey co n tin ued to lead , as Clark a nd Meng ta ng led and went dow n. T he two rid ers scr amb led 10 remou nt, and sli ced th ro ug h th e pack 10 regain their positions. Shirey took an easy win o ver Meng , who topped Clark for second. Shirey grabbed a no ther hol eshot in the second round, bu t Meng sli d past on th e sno w-covered tra ck as th e pa ck began la p two. Once in fron t, Men g was uns toppa bl e, a lthough Shirey tr ied every trick in the book to retake th e lead. Men g was the overa ll winner a head of Sh irey a nd Clark. Joe Brown sto le the stan o r the first 250cc Beginner mot o a head o r Mike H ona n a nd David Sch m id t. Bro wn began 10 p ull away, but o n the m ove was Ch ris Conner, who had a med iocre sta n . Bro wn held o n Io r th e' win o ver Co n ner a nd H on a n. .
