By lap six, Graves' blistering pace pushed him 18 seconds beyond capture. At the finish , Graves had blasted his pace up to 30 seconds beyond Hullman, Spalding, Berry and Postma . This lime Berry moved into the auack position behind Graves lollowed by Huflman, Postma and Spalding. As Graves again hammered out his lead. the inten sit y behind was esta tic. Andy Saum pil oted his Beta to the win in the Championship class, but was launch ed over th e bars on the last section. Saum remou nted and staggered to the finish to beat th e clock by a few seco nds. Mark Makarov rod e impressively, but missed the time cut011 by less than a minute. Da le Geshell rode his Beta to lirst place in the Advanced cla ss with points. Brian Long' bons was a single point behind in second and broke out of a tie with Doug Geshel by virtue of two more cleans. Rob Stanley motored to the win in the Novice clas s while Scott Petrie and David Wrublik tied lor seco nd with 53 points. Petri e got th e nod with one more clean than Wrublik..
