Then three more ri ders parked it, a nd , yes, th e red flag reappeared. T h is time , th o u ~h . Church was thrown out for ca us ing -rhe acci dent and the field was cu t down to five ride rs. Cu rry took th e lead for good in this restart, going -Ilag-to-Ilag for the wi n . Last year's cha m p , Lazer, and local favorite, Bast. had looked good in th e ea rly ro u nds and cou ld no t be co u nted o u t. First. he had to pre-q ua li fy just to get . on th e p rogram then , with no i eno u g h points to ge t o n th e fro nt row of the mai n . he had to battle through the Last Chance Q ual ifi er - also from ro w two - to mak e it to the main.
