Junior National Nin eteen J un ior class riders com peted in two hea ts fro m whi ch six in each wo uld adva nce to th e mai n event. Andy Tresser ha ndily wo n th e first hea t, and Da n Stan ley, who was riding with a sepa ra ted shoulder he suffered the nigh t befor e, won th e second. / In the main event Kell was o ff th e line q uick wi th Pegram rig h t on h im. Pro-Am Allan Mcbee a nd J.P. Simonsen won the heat races in th e P ro-Am su p po rt program, but in the main event Steve H yson took th e lead on a restart and jumped o ut to a lead that no one would challenge.
