Kevin Jorda n led at the start with J os h Larsen seco nd off th e line. Before the race was o ne lap o ld , Co ll ins shot Larsen clo wn and loo k over the nu mber two spot. The first 125cc A Modified moto saw John Sier with th e ea rly lead followed by jeff Beckington, James Eickel and Bowen. Bowen slipped by Eickel for thi rd. By lap two, a battle for (irst start ed between leader Beckington and Bowen . The lead swapped back and forth until lap five when Bowen p ut a little distance betw een himself and Beckington. Beckington had some problem s a nd dr opped to third as Sier moved to seco nd. Bowen took the wi n as Beckington managed to get by Sie r for second. In moto two, Missouri's Travis Kobush led the pa ck on lap one. Bowen, with a fourth place start. worked hi s way into th e number one spot by the end o f lap one. as Beckington was clos e at hand. The pair opened the throttle and left the pack. Beckington was unsuccess·
