Dahners dusts Horn
Rapids HS
By E. Kinney
RICHLAND, WA, APR. 2
Jason Dahners' sharp strategy clinched the
overall victory at the Richland Hare Scrambles
race held at the Horn Rapids ORV Park.
'Over 80 riders calmly chose positions in a
column between the sagebrush on the sandy
course, and from a standstill, Honda rider Nat
Wilder bounded out front and gained a
quarter-mile lead on the dirt road leading into
the mOlocross section. Wilder rocketed over
numerous jumps to maintain his lead as he
exited into a winding trail of rutted sand. The
J5-lQile loop wound through pit row, and
Wilder completed his first loop in the lead.
Inching his way closer to Wilder, Dahners
rolled to within 100 feet on the second loop
motocross section. Ot far behind were Milc.e
Tobia, Cary Condotta, Darin Wolle and Ed
Morse. During the latter part of loop two,
Dahners tracked Wilder until he gOt past,
Morse stomped around Wolfe and gave every
indication of gaining the forefront before
long.
On loop three, Morse rushed by Tobia and
a moment later set his sights on Condotta
while Dahners increased his lead over Wilder
in spurlS.
Dahners had a half-mile lead over Wilder
as he pulled in for a gas fill. In the middle
of loop four, Morse switched places with
Condona and ~ ahead hoping for another
gain as he slipped rapidly forward. In the
motocross section, Wilder emerged directly in
front of him.
The first rider given the checkered nag was
Dahners, who had sped to the overall win.
Thirty seconds later Morse had darted into
second and first overall and in the Over The
Hill A class. Wilder kept up enough momentum to claim third overall and second place
in Heavyweight A class, only 10 seconds ahead
of Condona, fourth overall and second place
in the Over The Hill A class. Tobia was next
into the passageway for first place in Ughtweight A class.

LOOt CA, APR. 16
Kris Kiser, aboard his nourescent-colored
Honda, dominated today's Expert action .
during Lodi Cycle Bowl's unday IT. Kiser
. knocked off tough competitors Kevin Bricker
and Daniel McDonnell to claim the win. Kiser
also finished third in the Pro-Am event, where
McDonnell came back to take the win with
Bobby McDowell laking second.
Kiser shot off the line and into the lead
going into the wide sweeper in the Expert
battle. While he left the pack far behind, two
other Honda riders, Bricker and McDowell,
along with Danny McDowell on a Harley,
were banling it out. Each one was trying hard
to break through enough to go after Kiser.
Bricker, in second, held off McDonnell while
McDowell held on to fourth. With the three
riders changing lines, trying to make some
kind of move, ROlaX rider Dave Bostrom was
stuck in fifth with no way around the threeman pack. While all of this was going on,
Kiser was busy extending he lead to a quarter
of a lap ahead of Bricker. After the first few
laps, it was evidenl thal Kiser was nOl aboul
to be caught.
