Brown led Tim Buchli through tum one in the first moto, but Sandell moved to second a few turns later. By lap three Brown and Sandell had left Buchli 15 seconds back. The twO Vickery MOLOrSp0rlS teamsters were banging bars in every turn and finally .collided, sending both to the ground. Once remounted, they traded the lead two more times on one lap before Brown slowed, allowing Sandell to speed past. 'Brown's problem was that the crash broke his front brake lever off. This permilted Sandell to charge away, but his lead only lasted another five laps when he d'eveloped a rear Oat. Brown regained the lead, and th" duo limped bome one· two. BucbJi led Brown and Sandell to the first turn of the second round, but they both went past Buchli quickly to continue their baltle. Toward the end of lap two, Sandell squeezed inside Brown on a left-hander, bermed off Brown and bla$ted away to a 33-second win. Buchli eventually demoted Brown to third, as Brown tired after also going in the Open Pro class. _ In his third try, Brown finally succeeded in his early-season skirmish with Dave Newell in the Open Pro class. Newell won the first moto, but Brown edged the defending champ j n moLO 1wo [or the overall. Buchli was also able to make his day worthwhile by going I-I in the 125cc Pro class. He had to fend off SCOlt Fulcher most of the way to win moLO one and had to overtake Robert Revoir to win the second round. Results starting gate and got out of shape which ruined his chances to win the overall. Scoleri got a dynamite start and went wire· to-wire without a problem. Dineen lost it in the switchback, which didn't-help his day either. Halterman rode a good race, advancing from sixth to third. At the checkered flag it was Seoleri taking a well-deserved win over Jeff Justus, Halterman, Ty Birdwell, Radcliffe, Whipple, Shawn Lauer, Hansen, Dineen and Howard. In the 800c class the Juniors, Intermediates and Experts all ran together and were scored separately. Troy Kibble was the only Intermediate and Kawasaki Team Green member Jason McCormick was the only Exp·ert. McCormick got the scratch ahead of Alex Travaglione, Ben Rhoades, Kibble, Todd Waltmire and the others. McCormick wasted no lime in disappearing from the entire group. Vy Lam Nguyen and Brad Boehm both moved up a long way by the finish where the order was McCormick, Travaglione. Rhoades, Nguyen, Boebm, Kibble, WalLmire and Jared Schrameck. In moto two McCormick took his PJII SeottlTsubaki/Barr's Comp.!Screwy Design Kawasaki into tbe lead once again and left the other minis a half a track behind. Travaglione rode a perfect wire-lo-wire race to lead the Juniors, while Nguyen and Rhoades battled back and forth. At the end it was McCormick, Travaglione, Nguyen, Rhoades, Schram mock, Waltimire and Kibble. Results 60 NOV: ,. John-Paul Lytton (Kawl. 80 AM: 1. Joshua locker (Kawl. 80 NOV: 1. Seoleri scoots at WoodlandMX By Derryl Anderson WOODLAND, WA., MAR. 18 AXO/Maxima-backed Shawn Seoleri took his Yamaha to the overall win in the 1250c Intermediate class at Woodland Motocross Park. . Dan Hansen got the scratch in moto one followed by Scoleri, Chris Dineen, J. Whipple, Billy Radcliffe, Joel Howard and the others. The ·first five positions went unchanged until lap five when Radcliffe took over third from Dmeen. Seoleri chased Hansen the whole moto but couldn't make a pass suck. The moto ended with Hansen topping Seoleri, Radcliffe, Dineen, Whipple and Corq Halterman. In moto two Hansen climbed over th~ Vlach Jumps to LACR win By Terry Rezek PALMDALE, CA, MAR. 26 Paul Vlach took home all the eggs with a 1-1 score in the Pro class at CRC's Easter Sunday MX at Los An~eles County Raceway. Tim Telford wheehed th~ lenKth of the starting straight when the gat~ f~1I for the first Brian Brown (72) leads Jeff Frey on his way to winning the 250cc Beginner class at Los Angeles County Raceway. moLO with Vlach right behind going into turn one. Telford led for three laps but lost the lead when he tried lO rail around the big sweeper in the middle of the course. Vlach, running a tight second, squared it off and dove under Telford for the lead and the molO win. Telford spun his wheels at the start of moto two, giving Vlach the lead again. Vlach took off in the direction of the finish line and top dollar. Although Telford gave chase for tbe entire moLO he had to seLLle for second again and second overall. Ken Neitzel grabbed the irrtrnediate lead as the 2500c Intermediate class rolled for moto one as Adam Pontious and Tony Qualls trai'led, and they were as close as if they were all in one basket for the first three laps. On lap four, QuallS hopped to second and then took the lead in the sweeper. Qualls quickly pulled away for the win. Qualls was second off the line in molO two behilld Pontious and moved to the lead on lap five. The second moto win gave Qualls first overall while Pontious took second and NeilZel third. The 2500c Novice race was the most exciting of the day. Mike Little got the holeshot but Tony Sulek was right by his side as they went into turn one. The.y stayed less than a bike length apart for the entire race. On lap four, Sulek out-powered Little as they went around the big sweeper in the middle of the course and then kept Little behind him all the way to the checkered flag. Matt Wyckoff snagged the lead in moto two with Little pressuring him from lurn one on. Sulek started in about fifth place and moved to fourth before the first lap was done while Little took the lead. On lap two, Sulek popped into second and closed. on Little. From lap three to lap seven, Sulek was all over LiLLie and all over the track looking for an opening. On the last lap, Sulek took a chance at going under Little in that big sweeper. Little drifted down to block, the two tangled, stalled, and Little went down as Sulek recovered and went on for the win and first oveall. Results .1 80 BEG~ 1. Aeron Wasnea (Kaw); 2. Mark Musselman and Chuck Reed were the big money takers at the pay window in the 125 and 2500c Semi-Pro classes. Chris Knox grabbed the -holeshot and led the first 250cc Semi-Pro moto until the rough hill section got the better of him. Scoll Paul shot into the lead, but Musselman worked his way through, for the first moto win. . MOLO two was all Paul's from start to finish.
