SHOOT-OUT: SENIORS One Class Only ALL ![~E ,"::~E~:::U_ * THE RIDER WHO COM:: PETES IN ALL THEREE Dirk Geukens scored an unexpected overall victory with his 1-4 score. Geboers was struggling again, while Geukens had one eye on the overall honors rather than a death or glory attempt at a double. The next man past Liles was Nicoll, but by this stage Leisk was 10 seconds ahead and Nicoll seemed unable to close the gap as he was more concerned about staying clear of Jacky Martens, who had been the next to pass Liles as the American eventually dropped to ninth. Suddenly with just over half an hour gone Leisk made a mistake and Nicoll closed to within three seconds, only for the gap to double again the next time around. The leader passed the finish line just before the 40minutes were completed and by this time Leisk was getting very tired. He fell again in a comer, but kept his hand on the throttle and just managed to back up before Nicoll could gel past. The pair collided but didn't fall and Leisk led over the lirte by a narrow margin. Behind Martens, Geukens just held off Van der Ven for fourth place and the overall win, while Geboers was a lonely sixth, having reinherited the posi tion after a half hour when the hard-charging Jobe crashed. lobe still wasn't firtished though and in a desperate attempt to pass Liles for eighth, he almost lost control and stalled the motor, crossing the line 14th after a bruising battle in the final chicane with Marc Velkeneers. Jo Martens had again slowed late in the race but just managed to stay ahead of Persson for seventh. It took Thorpe most of the race to catch Carlo Hulsen for 12th, and only Jobe's mishap lifted him to 11th. Of the first race front-runners Lacher had a miserable first lap and eventually pulled out after taking the bars in his chest as the bumps took control of more and more riders. - Results MOTO 1: 1.
