Halfway through the last loop, Krause passed Roeseler who was riding very slow and pointing at his foot. Roeseler had hit a rock. Krause was joined by Hunnicutt at the finish line as the two celebrated winning the 250cc class and finishing second overall for the race with a tie of four hours , 32 minutes and 58 seconds.
