H oll ey pursued th e H onda rider and stayed glued to hi s rear fender and . made several pass a ttem p ts, with Storbeck con tinua lly hanging onto the lead. Near th e halfway point Schmit found hi s way into fourth. O nce in fourth th e Pro-Circu itiFox/ Bieffe/ Scott -sponsored rider started ch opping at Vohland 's thir d p lace lead but co u ld n' t ca tch th e Kawasaki rider . Storbeck pi cked up th e win ah ead of Ho lley, Vohland and Schmi t with T yson Voh land worki ng his way past Fowler for fifth. . As the riders lin ed up for the m ain Fowl er and Mike Young were in row one with Hicks a nd Steve Lamson directl y beh ind them. Tyson Voh la nd and Stephenson were in row three with Emig and Fries en holding down th e fourt h row . When th e green flag dropped Em ig somehow managed to ga in the lead wi th Step henson , Tyson Voh land, La m son and Fo wler close . behind. On th e first lap Sch m it shoved Fowl er to sixth and set af ter the leaders. T he H onda r ider soon gained another positi on as he shot by Lamson a nd then joined T yson Voh land in passin g Stephenson. Emig still . had a small lead with Ty son Vohland, Schm it, Step henson and Fowl er. Manley was al so working hi s way toward the front. T he Kawasaki rider qui ckl y found h i s wa y aro u nd Fo wler for fifth a nd then began working on Step henson. . Up front the battle raged for first. T yson Vohland picked up his pace and pressured Emig off every jump and in every tum. The ba ttle, which lasted most of th e race , ended on the last lap as Tyso n looped his Kawasaki. Vohland ' s m is take ha n ded Em ig th e easy win over Schmit , Man ley, Tallon Voh land a nd Stephenson. Tyson Vohland dropped out aft er being carried off the track by paramedics.
