Chuck Clayton The Desire to W in Videos by Professor Bailey $54.95 As Gary Bailey's title suggests, this video is aimed at riders who take th eir racing seriously and are working to improve their riding skills in order to win at motocross. It's not strictly for entertainment like som e of his race videos; th is one 's a purely educational video. But it isn't a simple how. to video. After som e spectacular slow-mo tio n footage to open the show, the video focuses on Bailey and his suggestions on how to improve yo ur riding and fulfill your desire to win races. Bailey merely stands in front of the camera and tells the viewer how toimprove riding skills and prepare for racing, both mentally and physically. A few race scenes are used to break up the lecture and illustrate points such as , physical conditioning. One of the strongest points Bailey makes is that you can improve your riding by watching th e correct form of positive role models in action. This, says Bailey, forms an image in your mind, and your body will ultimately try to copy that image. Bailey then supports his point with excellent race footage of positive role models such as Rick johnson, jeff Ward, Ron Lechien, David Bailey and Broc Glover. Bailey . explains the correct techniques you should use for a given section of track, then shows one of the role ' models displaying the correct form. The rider is shown several times in .slow motion while Bailey points out the correct body positioning and riding techniques. The Desire to Win is an excellent training video , and all of the slowmotion race footage makes it en tertaining as well. A 20-minute audio ' cassette tape is also included with the video and allows 'yo u to hear all of Bai ley's advice when you're not in front of a television screen, such as on your way to th e ra ces.
