When the gat e dropped a t the start o f th e first moto Earl Co le sho t out front , but Ridgwa y immedia tel y pushed him back to second. Gary Wagner ca me in third at the finish ahead of Jim Carley and J ohn Stroup. Second-more action saw Ridgway lead Co le, Wa gn er and Dann y Pacheco from start-to-fin ish .
