Jared Mees is off to a
good start if he plans to
win back the number-
one plate. The Volusia
Half-Mile doubleheader
started off with Mees and
Jeffrey Carver tangling
while battling for the lead
in race one. Carver went
down, forcing a restart.
This time, there was no
drama and Mees got out
in front early and stayed
there for his 50th career
win, letting everyone else
fight for the scraps. Mees
had to work a little harder
in race two after starting
on the second row. He
passed his way to the
front and, from the fourth
lap on, rode off with
another win.
