MOTOGP FIM MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 1 / JULY 17-19, 2020 CIRCUITO DE JEREZ – ÁNGEL NIETO / JEREZ, SPAIN P56 from Maverick Vinales (20) and Andrea Dovizioso (16). Moto2 sees Nagashima lead on 45 points from Lorenzo Baldassarri (28) and Marini (25). Moto3 has Arenas leading on 50 points from Agura (36) and McPhee (20), while in MotoE, Grandao leads on 25 points from Ferrari (20) and Aegerter (16). (Above) Marquez's ride was inspiring to watch. After producing yet another incredible save, the World Champion rode with a speed that made the best riders in the world look like also-rans. He hunted his rivals down, one after another, and was about to put the move on Maverick Vinales for what would have been second place when he crashed out at high speed at Turn Three. His accident elevated Andrea Dovizioso (04) to third, with Pol Espargaro (44) producing an excellent ride for KTM in sixth. (Top right) Iker Lecuona (27) was having a good ride inside the top 12 as the leading rookie, only to retire with six laps to go. Miguel Oliveira (88) had an entertaining scrap with a man 16 years his senior, Valentino Rossi (46), who also suffered a mechanical failure with seven laps to go. Alex Marquez would eventually come home as the lead rookie in 12th, one place ahead of Brad Binder, who was sitting comfortably within the top 10 before running off track. The South African was at one stage the fastest rider on track on the KTM, showing he has what it takes to be fast in MotoGP.
