IIIMY OWN RACE:
Desmosedici GP, giving me the chance
to be constant today in the race. Un-
fortunately, I s ll didn't feel completely
comfortable on the bike, and above all,
I lacked speed."
73 ALEX MARQUEZ
12TH MOTOGP
"I think we have a good base to now
work from," Alex Marquez said. "Today
was also a really good test, physically,
because in this heat it was quite tough.
It was a tricky race for everyone in the
heat. I was fast during the middle of
the race, but I need to focus on the
first five laps and the last four laps. But
this is part of being a rookie, learning
these sorts of things. Fortunately, we
have next week to try it again."
51 ERIC GRANADO
1ST MotoE
"I think I learned from last year when
I made so many mistakes; I wasn't
consistent and I crashed in so many
races," Eric Granado said. "Today I was
trying to not make any mistakes. At the
start I wheelie'd, I don't know why, we
never had that feeling before! I think
because of the new torque but I'll work
to not do that again! A er that I tried
to overtake Tulovic as soon as I could
and do a clean lap. It was good, I could
get a gap and then control it."

In the MotoGP class standings,
Quartararo leads on 25 point
It was while trailing Vinales with
three laps to go that it all went
pear-shaped. Exiting Turn Three,
Marquez's Honda snapped
sideways and pitched the World
Champion over the high side
and into the gravel at ferocious
speed. Marquez was barreling
through the gravel trap when he
got hit by his bike on his right
arm, breaking the humerus and
suffering possible nerve damage.
That left Quartararo and Vi-
nales clear at the front, the two
bringing home a Yamaha 1-2 at
the flag from Andrea Dovizioso
(Ducati Team) in third.
