IIIMY OWN RACE:
20 FABIO QUARTARARO
1ST MOTOGP
"It feels incredible," Quartararo said. "I
don't think the feeling has sunk in yet,
I think that will come when I watch the
race again. It's a shame that my family,
friends and fans are not here to see

partners and to Yamaha for that. This
win is for my family, my brother espe-
cially, my best friend, my manager, all
the fans who can't be here, my team
and also to those people that have suf-
fered a lot during the last 4 months. I
also want to wish a speedy recovery to
Alex [Rins], Cal [Crutchlow] and Marc
[Marquez]."

P54
After Marquez made his
first mistake, Quartararo
pounced on Maverick
Vinales on lap nine, who
was struggling with early
pace on the soft front tire
compound. Jack Miller (43)
was in sensational form,
passing Vinales (12) and
looking good for a podium
place before fading late in
the race with numbness in
his hands. Vinales retook
second place and was
looking like a sitting duck to
the charging Marquez until
Marquez's accident three
laps from home.
