Brian Broussard o n a Yamaha won the 250cc cla ss edgin g ' o u t Honda-mounted Carey Jones in the last lap. Each tea m cons isted of o ne rider per class with a stagger start from the Open class to the 80cc class in a lO -lap mot o. Kenny Yoho won bo th motos for an overall 60cc class win. Kitsch ran into him a nd got his foot stuck in between Lofley's swingarm a nd rear tire, inj uring his ankle. Honda rider J im Royko took advan tage of this a nd earned a first moto win , with second going to Kaw asakimoun ted G lenn Summerville and third to Su zu ki rider Der e k Youngblood.
