Smith pulled the hol esh o t to start off 80cc Stock Expert action wit h J oel Albrecht and Dana Wiggins in pursuit. Buddy Antunez gated poorly bill was o n the gas and clos ing fast u n til he went do wn hard in th e back strai gh t corne r, dropping to last. Wiggins closed o n Smith and put heavy pressu re on him bu t co uldn't find h is way past. Albrecht came up to join the fray but centerp unched a berm wh ile trying to make a pass. Sm ith just nipped Wiggins in a close finish . It was Smith wi th th e hol eshot again just ahead of Du sti n Eva ns and Albrech t to start th e second ro un d. Antunez, flying in third p lace, go t co mp letely sidewa ys on lap one but hung on and saved it.
