Schwartz boogies at Speedway USA . By Scott Daloisio VICTORVILLE, CA, MAY 14 Bobby Schwartz' reign of terror over the southern California speedway community continued on Saturday night at Speedway USA as he swept his Scratch portion of the program for the second consecutive week. Schwartz dominated the competitors and had a bik e length lead as the four-rider field attacked the first bend. Brad Oxley was out seco nd behind Schwartz and the Budweiser/C.T.I. Brace/Malcolm Smith/Cirello Raeing/STP Weslake. Louis Kossuth and Mik e Curoso also ga ve chase but the y could not catch the high flying lead duo. Oxley was hot o n the trail of Schwartz, Muddy conditi ons on the outside prevented any of th e riders from gomg far into th e cu sh ion but Schwartz parked his rear tir e on me dirt line while Oxley tried to chum up th e inside. Oxley bided his time until the final lap aro und th e high desert oval. H e tried to pull past Schwartz in tum three and almost pulled even, but Schwartz kept the throttle pegg ed and he took a onelength win as th ey passed Don Robinson 's checkered flag. The Handicap main had a tough time getting underway. Jessee Finch went down in turn two and out came the red. On the second try, Billy Gray gave Kelcey Gordon a shot and that triggered a six-rider crash. A few of the competitors were shaken but the y all managed to get back for the restart.
