Roe roosts at MidwayMX By S usan Willian MITCHELL, IN , MAY r Derrick Ro e aced both motos of the 125cc A clas s for th e overall victory at Midway MX. After Roe dropped h is bike on the first lap of moto one, Keith Brown had the early lead but Mark Sween ey out-maneuvered him to take first. Sweeney was pr essured by Rodney Carrier and Brown as Roe mov ed from th e back of the pack to sixth. Sweeney took a soi l sample and Carrier took charge. Roe, on the move, pressured Bro wn and managed to get by taking anoutside line. Roe and second place Greg Derrickson rode sid e-by-side as Roe went by takin g over second and setting his sights on Carrier. Roe zoomed by Carrier to stretch his lead for the win with Carrier taking second o ver Brown. Sweene y was th e first to round turn one in the seco nd mo ta foll owed by Chad Walk er, Kevin Brown a nd Roe. Roe moved up to third and moved by Walker and gassed it for Sweeney. He tri ed on th e inside but Sweeney held him off. Finally, Roe tried on the outside of a banked turn and th en dove to the inside to go by Sweeney taking over first for the win. Resu lts 260 B: 1.
