W ORLD CHAM PIONSHIP QUA UTY By Jeff Crites HANOVER, PA, FEB. 28 Robert Huston won the 250cc and the Open Expert supercross features while William Snook had his double in the 65cc Mini and the 80cc (7-11) class , as th e Trail-way Speedway opened its 1988 racing seaso n. In the first final of th e da y Huston rode his KTM to victory in the 250cc Expert class by leading the entire distance from the drop of the starting gate. Following Huston across th e line for second was Matthew Bond riding on a Kawasaki. Third went to Tim Bemisderfer on a Yamaha. In the Open Expert final Huston again used a KTM to ride to victory over Kenneth Brown aboard a Honda. Third was th e Yamaha of Mark Burkholder. Following his second place finish .in the 250cc Expert class , Bond came back to ride his Kawasaki to win the 125cc Expert final. Second went to Rodney Yentzer II on a Yamaha while the Yamaha ridden by Steve Earnest fin ished third. Snook was the class of the field as he rode his Kawasaki to the checkers in the 65cc Mini class. . Second went to Shelby Reitz on a Kawasaki while third went to Gilbert Wilt Jr., al so on a Kawasaki.
