With o ne lap 10 go Sergea nt sq uea ked past McFa rland for seco nd. Mot o two was n earl y a replay o f th e fir st m ot o, McFarl and was fastest o ff th e line with Sergeant a nd Young close behind. The running orde r stayed the same until lap three whe n Young forced hi s way past Sergean t a nd in to seco nd. McFarland led until th e whi te flag lap when Young really put o n th e pressure and found an · opening to tak e first within sigh t o f th e fin ish line.
