the Suzuki pilot. Spear's bobble allowed both Johansson and Brad Mall to go by . Spear qui ckly regrouped and set out after th e pair of Hondas. With Dymond way out in front, Mall found a line on the outside of Johansson and moved int o second. Dymond took th e checkered on the next lap with Mall , Johansson and Spear following. At th e drop of the gate for moto two, Dymond, once again, took cha rge a nd was never se rio u sly challenged, as he styled off th e jumps for the spectators, while behind him, Spear was holding off the charges of Mall and Johansson. Lap after lap the trio chased after Dymond. Mall went down at th e halfway point and for the rest of th e moto tried to close the gap between himself and third pla ce Johansson. At th e close of th e moto, it was Dymond with the overall, Spear with a 4-2 showing and rounding out the top three was Johansson WIth a pair of thirds. Alan O lson ran away with a pair of wins in the Vet Expert class ' followed in bo th races by Kirt Goldie and Georg e Koh ler. In Vet Intermediate action Bengt J ohansson went l -2 for the overall win over John Whi te, who aced the second mo to but ' only managed a fourth in moto on e. -Steve Clark captured third overall, via a 2-4 . . scoring. . In Vet Novi ce ranks, Jim Deford had to deal with Yamaha rider Bob R ich ard. I n moto one, the two Yamahas were dueling for the lead after earl y moto leader Anthony . Procida, went down in a tricky offcamber corn er. Deford went on to th e lead but two laps from th e fin ish , Richard go t by and took th e win with Procida working hi s way back up into third. In rnoto two , Ken Scovill led the Novice class in the ear ly going, holding off Ri chard and Procida. Procida went by Richard whil e Deford took th e lead sp o t fr om Scovill. La te in the rnoto Scovill fell victim to Procida wh o set his sights on Deford. Deford held ' o n for the win and the overall with a 1-4, while Procida 's 3-2 was good for second overa ll.
