Disaster stru ck in moto two for Fuller, however, as the Kawasaki rider crashed while leading, handing th e number one spot over to Payne, wh o took it th e remainder of the way. good for a 2-1overall win. Mike West, Brooks, Fuller, Kip Mast and .Trev~r Levitt were second through SIxth In the moto. Fuller's 1-4 tallies were good for runner-up overa ll. Kawasaki rid er Russell Postma's win streak continued in th e 60cc Junior class. Postma won both motos over Do ug McKuhn. Cody . Lamm took third in the first contest on his Honda. In mota two Postma dominated from start to finish, leaving McKuhn to swap it out for second withKory Rasm ussen, a place which wo uld be McKuhn 's in the end. McKuhn and Rasm ussen rounded out th e top three in the overalls, followed by Lamm an d fifth place finisher Matt Will iams. Mik e Bell easily topped both Pro contests on his Honda and beat Gary Beyer. . In the 250cc Intermediate class Rod Keller took both motos by storm, topping Frank McKuhn. Results . PRO: 1. Overland lands Ascot Motocross win By Ken Faught GARDENA, CA, NOV . 29 Kawasaki-mounted Armando Overland used two second p lace finishes to win the 80cc Beginner class today ' on a specia lly prepared Ascot track. . In the first mota Ov erland grabbed the early . lead over.Ja,son Wilkey, Mark LIppert, WIlham Ril ey and Nathan Ellert son. In the second turn Riley went down wh ile Eller tso n was able to avoid him and slip into fourth. On th e second lap Ellertso n passed Lippert, who made an attempt to repass over a jump b~t Ell ertson moved over and LOok hIS line. On th e third la p Overland got sideways over the finish line jump, allo wing Wilkey to take over the lead. When the checkers fell, Wilkey 'took the win ahead of Overland, Ellertson. Lippert and Armando Fisk. Wilkey holeshot Ri ley, Ellertson, Fisk and Lippert at the start of the second moto. The first la p saw Overland move into fourth after a seventh p lace start and set his sights on Ell ertson. On the third la p th e front end of Ellertson's Yamaha . washed .o u t, sending him to the ground and giving third to Overland. On the last lap Riley and Overland got by Wilkey and J?~)Ved into the 'first and second posmons. Ri ley took the moto win in front of Overland, Wilkey, Fisk and Ellertson. Consistency paid off ,for Overland as his 2-2 score 'earned h im overall. Wilkey was second with a 1-3 tally and Ellertson third with 35 finishes. When th e pack of l25cc Junior riders rounded the first corner, Jimmy Wilkey led Eric J asper, Nick Morgan, Kraig Clement and MIke Wash ko. Jasper didn' t waste any time as he soon passed Wil key and took over the lead. Morgan was now a close thi rd behi nd Wilkey but cou ld n't find a 'way by on the oneline supercross style track. Jasper took the win over Wilkey, Morgan, Washko and Tom Wykoff. At the start of the second rnoto Wilkey holesho t Washko, J asper, Morgan, and Clement. Jasper passed Washko on ·the inside of the second turn and soo n ca ugh t Wilkey and too k over the lead. Morgan was in th ird and pressuring Wilkey off every jump and into every corn er.
