Novice Brian Broussard had a busy weekend, claiming the 125, 250 and 500cc C Championship aboard his Yamaha. Christine Hanson checks out all ' the action. Yamaha rider Craig Decker was the.85cc (7-11) GP Champion. WorldSport's Bob West presents the Bronze Bike Trophy t o Br ian Swink, who won seven classes. Massach usetts rider Keith J ohnson led them all to the first turn. " We practiced wi tha tie wrap on the star ter and bike in gear," he explained. It worked and J ohnson led the firstfour laps with Michael Cra ig, Dennis Step henson and Mike LaRocco in tow . Matiasevich was 17th after lap one and had to finish within four places of Craig 'to preserve his championship. Craig won the event , bu t Matiasevich hustled to fourth and the title. Matiasevich said, " I' ve never run any off-road even ts. An hour was a long tim e for me out there today ." Robb ie Hanson paced not only the 125cc B parade lap bu t thre e nyJre before Jeff Emig and Chad Pederson rode through the pa ck for a one-two firiish. J ohn Kitsch, after leading every lap of 250cc B compe tition, said, "T hIS is a pretty neat course. My Kawasak i went the'distance on one tank (of fuel ) and I' m gla d for tha t " . Fifteen-year-o ld Brian Bro ussard rode his WKR-tuned/Gear / Amesbacked Yama ha to a seventh in the Grand Prix to edge J ohn Bogevich by one point for the Novice di vision title.
