the Missouri Mudders Fall Enduro .
T he even t was one of th e final few
even ts of th e 1987 Black Jack Enduro
Series. Mo st of th e rid ers agreed th at

S teady rain th e day before produ ced genera lly slick trails that, by
da y's end took its to ll o n th e almost
200 riders. Thanks to good planning
by Mudders o rga n izers, th e en tire
eve nt was rideab le without an y
bo ~t1ene~ks. H o wever, many vir gin
trails, with the remainder predominantly tight and hill y, crested new
cha llenges around a lmost every turn.
One shallow creek, in particu lar, was
n eye-open er for most with a flat,
mossy bed that ' was like ridin g a
grea sed p ig o n spi ke heels.

ide ntica l, 36-mi le loop s. Criders
co mpleted on ly the first, wh ile B, A,
~nd AA rode both, ~ hich in loop two
inc luded an especially dema nding
ad d itio na l shan section. Eve n at 1

from all bu t the fastest woods'
wizards. Overall winner Newell los t

one. It was a close contest , as Six

lea d and now Pu m mell was being
challenged by Klin g and Ro b by

look ed in good form after the long
layoff. In th e closing laps Nicoloff
turned several fast la ps to pu t the race
away, whi le Klin g p u t his Yamaha
FZR7 50 in seco n d p lace and made

seconds back in third.
