Dominating both th e IO pe n Expert a nd 250cc Expert clasS th e Rossin i Racing P roduct sponsored-rider took both m otos by storm. Team Green/KPS-sponsored Mickey Kessler grabbed th e holeshot in the first m o to of the O pen Expert class. Du tch ess Recrea tio nal Vehicle! EP/ Arai-sponsored Ku rt McMillen took seco nd headi n g into the first turn with Thompson jumping into third over the staircase. At the bo ttom of the plunge McMillen powered by Kessler , while Ka wasa ki-m o unted Cliiick Weinberg an d H onda Support pilot J erry Sei p ro u nded outthe top five. McM illen got a littl e ou t of Shape over th e doubles but held on io th e lead while Kessler a nd T Hompson had a race of th eir own , going for second. Weinberg an d Seip were banging handlebars for fourth ab2ut th ree seco nds behind Thompson . Ke ssler closed th e gap on McMi llen down th e drag-strip dou bles an d gained th e lead. Thompson passed McM ill en too th en slid b y Kessler in th e ba ck sect io n a nd had co ihroI of the lead. Under the checkers Thompson was firs t ahead b£ Kessler, McMillen, Weinberg and Seip . The final m oto h ad McMillen grabbing th e holesh ot followed by Thompson a n d Bob Sorenson through th e first tum. Lots of action t k p lace in th e back sectio n of th e tra ck. McMillen got good ai r co m ing over the p lunge with Thompson o n h is tai l, th en over th e roc ke rs Thompson made a p ass stic k to ta ke the lead. The moto fin ish went do wn to T h om pson, McMillen. Kessler , Weinberg an d J im Kapi tan. In the 250cc Expert class Thompso n j u mped ou t to an early lead In the.first m oto a nd ra n it wire-to-wire. Chuck Weinberg h eld tight o nto secon d. Third an d fourth was di ced between J im McI lva in e, J im Kapitan, Mickey Kessler and Brian Carroll. At th e finish Thompson took another victory followed by We inb erg , Kapitan , Kess ler , and McIlvaine. T hompson never loo ked back in the fin al m oto and copped a perfect score for th e day. Weinber g and Kapitan fi ni shed second and third in th e moto and overalls. Carroll p ulled do wn a fourth moto but with a 74 score took a fifth overall. When the gate dropped for the 125Cc Expert class Henry Dorschug powered ou t of the gate with Brian Z Carro ll o n th e insid e. In th e back sect ion of th e track p osit ions were being jockeyed around a nd Ed Bao em erged o ut in fro nt. Bao opened u p a good lea d while Barry Carsten a nd Ed Foedish passed by Dorsch ug . Under the checker s it wa s Bao , followed b y ,Mc Mill en , Car st en , Carroll a nd Dorschug . The final m oto had Ca rsten in front of th e p ack. Carroll settled in a co m for ta ble seco n d followed by Bao , Dorschug a nd Mark Costa. T he o verall order was Ca rs ten, Ba o , Carroll, Dorschug a n d Foedish. Results 250 NOV: 1.
