CA. 2 Kawasaki-m ounted Mike Ulria h was the overall win ner tonight in division two of the 125cc Beginner class at Asco t. At th e start of the first mo ta it was Tim Valadez wh o put h is H onda ou t front a hea d of Keith Fai rchild and Erik Ha yes. In th e seco nd turn Valad ez went down, taking Fairchild and H a yes with him. Robert Mu ckelroy, who was in fourth , sudden ly found himself with a slim lead over Ulriah. Ulr ia h began to ap ply pressure to Mu ckel roy a nd was waiting for him to mak e a m istake. Toward the end of th e seco nd lap Ulriah passed Mu ckelroy after th e drop-off but Mu ckelroy quickly passed him back. Whil e th e Mu ckelroy and Ulriah battl e co n tin ue d a no ther good ra ce wa s taking pl ace for fourth. Angelo Morgan was in fifth and was trymg to ge t around Damion Epherson. Epherson began to pi ck up hi s pace a nd so did Morgan. Morgan cont in ued to ch ase Epherson looking for th e slightest mistake but th e mi stak e never materialized. At th e finis h it was Mu ckelroy taki ng the win ahead of Ulriah, Val adez. Epherson and Morgan. . At th e start of the second mot o U1riah quickl y piloted hi s Kawasaki to a clean lead a nd began to pull a way from seco n d pl ace rider Valadez. Mu ckelroy was in third and was taking pressure from Keith Gibson. On th e seco nd lap Gibson passed Mu ckelroy and a lap later Muckelroy was passed once again by Cagiva rider Derek Mcl.eod. :At the finish it was Ulriah with a big win ahead of Gibson. Valadez, McLeod and Muckelroy. U lria h claimed the overall win , Valadez was second and .Muckelroy was third. In th e 125cc Intermediate class it was Kevin Bussey who grabbed th e early lead a head of John Leve y, Randy Danylo a nd Daniel Bush .
