CMC/Dodge Truck Trans-Cal Series: Round 5 Craig hammers out win at Dixon By Troy Scott DIXO N, CA, OCT. 4 Pro Circuit-sponsored Michael Craig hammered his way to the 125cc Pro win for the second week in a row today at Argyll Cycle P a r k. Craig, ab oar d a Yamaha , 10 managed to stay away from the prob lems his competition encountered and took control of the lead in both motos. Honda-supported Ty Davis captured second overall with 4-2 finishes and Shaun Wooten claimed third with 53 moto scores. Kawasaki-supported Tommy Watts couldn't back up last week's double class victory, although he did manage to capture the overall win in the 250cc Pro class. Watts dominated the class and worked past early leaders in both rounds to take double moto wins. Craig snagged second with 3-2 rides and Suzuki's Willie Surratt claimed third with a 2-6 . score. Kawasakiolmounted Mike Larsonsto le the 500cc P ro win by capitalizing on Wat ts' mistakes and picking up wins in both motos. Watts led both races but had problems staying on his bike. Larson was always lurking behind and took over in both motos. Watts did manage to pick up second overall, narrowly edging out Doug O'Donnell. Kawasaki rider Bader Manneh shot down the long Argyll start straight and stole ' the lead at the begi nn ing of the first 125cc Pro moto. Kyle Lewis, Craig, ·H onda mounted Dean Matson and Davis fo llowed. Davis moved by Matson on lap two, then Wooten trailed Matso n fo r another la p before he was ab le to get by. Manneh's lead ended with a hard-charging Lewis getting by on lap three, making the top five Lewi s, Manneh , Craig, Davis a nd Wooten. On the six th la p thi ngs started to happe n. Craig was busy working on Ma nneh a nd. passed him on the double j ump straight. Manneh stuck to Crai g's rear fender and when they went into the next turn th ey found Lewis frantically tryi ng to sta rt his bike. Lewis got it started just in time, a nd all three riders left the turn side by side. Manneh somehow managed to recapture the lead and was followed by Craig and Lewis. Davis and Wooten were a few seconds bac k. Manneh was once again chased' down by Craig and lost the lead over a large table-top jump. Craig moved ahead and took the win followed by Manneh, Lewis, Davis and Wooten. O nce again Manneh grabbed the holeshot at the start of the secon d moto and proceeded to pour on the gas. Down one of the straights Manneh gave away his .lead when a slick rut sent him to the ground; Manneh remounted but was out of the top ten. Lewis assumed the point position followed by Wooten and Craig. The three riders all stayed very close as Wooten made his move on Lewis and passed him. Still very" close, the three riders entered a straigh t with two large jumps in it. Wooten went through first and got ou t of shape a nd la nded harshly, went over the second jump once again out of shape bu t somehow saved it. Lewis la unch ed off the second jum p and came down beh ind a sideways Wooten, hit him and fell to eig h th. Craig took advantage of the mayhem and moved into first while Wooten was passed by Davis as he got back up to speed. Chris Young held fo urth ahead of Matson,
