Robert Naughton led all but the
last lap of the main.
Main event
The starting lineup was inverted
according to the heat race results,
placing the top finishers at the rear
of the field. Honda rider Naughton
jum~ into the lead followed by
Yamaha rider Russ. Wageman.
Tyson Vohla'nd, who started from
the fifth row, then Matiasevich, and
Ray Sommo.
- On the second I'!-p Matiasevich
muscled past Tyson Vohland for
third, while Watts started his move
through the pack, working up to
sixth.
Naughton continued to hold on
to the lead while the battle behind
him tightened up, with Matiasevich
and Vohland moving past Wageman
to take second and third. By lap six,
Naughton had bel1;un to feel the heat
from the Vohland/Matiasevich battle.·It all turned sour on lap seven
for Matiasevich, as he fell in turn two
and dropped back to sixth behind
Honda-mounted Sommo.
Tyson Vohland had reeled in
Naughton by lap eight and continued to make serious challenges for
the lead. Watts continued his aerobatic maneuvers over the double
.jump and sailed past Wageman to
take over third.

his Kawasaki pasiNaughton overthe
doubles and continue on for the win,
with Naughton second in front of
Watts, Wageman, Sommo, and the
MTGP Ultracross Series Champion
Matiasevich.
Vohland"'s ride netted him a total
of $1162 in earnings, and chalked up
his second MTGP win for the year
while securing fourth in the MTGP
Ultracross Series points.
The winner Vohland said of the
MTGP Ultracross, "It's a good, hard,
fast race. It's a little differeD[ style
of racing. It's nine hips as hard as
you can go, I think it's a good show
fo~ the fans."
, Asked about getting through traffic quickly, Vohland replied, "The
double (jump) was very good forme,
because a lot of the riders were

the first jump and I was able to jump
past them and still clear the double
