Classic at Indian Creek MX doubled as the opening round of the Georgia Cycle Supply-sponsored GA/AL Fall Series and Honda rider Sean Dukes was the dominant force in A division racing, winning three of four motos. Chance Mathews raced his Suzuki to perfect scores in the Senior Mini and Super Mini classes. The expected confrontation in the A classes between Dukes and local favorite Darryl Ahonen failed to materialize as Ahonen faded to the back of the pack in the early laps each' time out. Ahonen explained that his lack of stamina was due to a case of tonsillitis. Dukes took a relatively easy pair of wins in the 125cc A class while Darryl Heisler scored 2-2 over Joe Rogers' pair of thirds. Yamaha's David Kelley exploded to the front in the first 25Occ/Open A moto and held on for the win over Dukes. Disappointed with his performance, Dukes said, "I' just couldn't get anything g~ing in that mOlO." Moto two was a different story as Dukes went past Ahonen in the early going and closed the four-second gap on leader Kelley a few laps later. Dukes got by for the win while Kelley had to be content with a 1-2 tally over Rogers' 4-3. Kerry Wisdom fought past Jeff Mimitsky and Randy Hooks to earn a perfect score in 250cc Bracing. Hooks claimed the runner-up slot via his 3-2 finishes while Mitnitsky, who had finished second in moto one, suffered a second moto crash that left him with a br.oken collarbone. The 48 entrants in the 125cc C class had to run qualifiers to reduce. the field for a firtal moto. A rider's finish in his qualifier counted as his first moto score. Heath Scott and Barry Brazier won their respective qualifiers. The start· of the final saw top col)tenders Gabe Gaddis and Mickey Walden down in the first turn. MeanwhIle, DeWayne Walker and Kevin Beaver were locked in a winner-lake-all fight for the lead. On the last lap, Beaver got by to net the winning 2-1 score. Scott started poorly but charged through traffic to claim runner-up gold. via his 13 tally. Walker's 3-2 was good for third over Brazier's 1-4. Results s.0 65 MINI: 1. Ryan Reynolds (Kaw); 2.
