hard at the Peoria Camel Pro race the previous weekend. Pro-Am riders started the night with their heats and wins went to Audie Huff and Californian Todd Bridges. The four Junior heats were won by fast qualifier Dave Camlin, Jim Sumner, Darell Davis and Recil Hart. The Experts were the first to bring the ambulance out in heat one when Rick Weir and Mark Dolacin fell on . the back straigh t. Dolacin had to take a trip to the hospital. Charlie Orr won the restart over Dave Hebb. The second heat also had 1O be redflagged when Bob Buffington hit the wall exiting turn two. Bob also needed a trip 1O the hospital for a check-up, causing a delay 1O get another ambulance. Bushman led the restart all the wa y over Beck. Greg Wagenknecht led heat three until the last 10 feet wh en Rick Gruber pushed his wa y by 1O win. Ri ch Kin g led the last heat the first four laps until he coasted across the line on lap five with a dead engine. J on Champlin took over for the win over Bob Brooks. The first Ex pe r t semi also brought out the red flag when Mike Ragan fell on lap two while leading. Orr took command of the restart over H ebb, Gruber and Wagenknecht. The order stayed the same until the last lap when Hebb took the win and Wagenknecht slipped into third. Rick Weir and Steve Kasten also moved into the final. Bushman ran away with the second semi over Jon Champlin, Scott Adams and Beck. Bridges took charge of the Pro-Am final on his Alma Transport/Hog Wash/Mom &: Dad-sponsored ROlaX ahead of Huff and Bob Ybema. The first two posi tions were set as Huff . couldn't gain on Bridges. Back in the pack Mike McDonnell had passed Ybema but soon had his hands full holding off Danny Koelsch. Ybema held on for fifth. Darell Davis got the holeshot in the Junior final only to be passed by Jim Sumner, as Recil Hart and Dave Camlin followed the leading p a ir. Sumner held on until the halfway point when he fell in turn two brin gin g out the red flag. Davis held the lead on the restart with Hart and Camlin close behind. The red flag came out again on lap six w hen Scott Rothschi ld fell. The race became a three-lap dash as Hart grabbed the lead on the restart with Da vis and Camlin in tow. H art took a trip into the hay bales and dropped to third as Camlin took the lead with one lap left. A last lap charge gave Da vis on his Tsubaki/Shoei/Ron Wood/Hog Wash/Cam 2/MC Racing sponsored Wood-RolaX a narrow win over Camlin. Hart held on for third while Kris Kiser passed Jim H a u p tm an for fourth. . The Expert final started with front row riders Hebb and Wagenknecht on the penalty line. Orr got the holeshot with Champlin close behind, as Bushman and Adams trailed in third and fou rth. Lap four saw Bushman take over second and the war was on. Bushman would take the lead in turn one only 1O have Orr move back into the lead at the finish line. Bushman was able to hold the lead the last two lap s as Orr stay!.d close in second. Champlin cruised hom e third with Beck , Hebb and Weir rounding out the top six. The Ill in o is State Championship was the last race of the night. Hebb and Beck put on quite a race, exchanging the lead almost every lap. Wagenknecht pushed close behind until the last lap when he bailed off.
