They have invo lvem ent by emp loyees , employees making su ggestions. It's a company that has cha n ged with th e '80s. Ma ybe it 's not where it wants \ 0 be yet, but it's an evo lving type o f company. It 's easier to work for now. What does the future hold for dirt track raci ng? I think it 's so me th in g that will always be in Am er ica. It 's indigenous to Am eri ca. It h as its core o f fan s wh o are d ie-hards. With th e m any form s o f m otorsp orts th ere are now, it may cha nge to a degree. I think 'it will a lway s be h ere. What about th is year? Are yo u going to win th e ch am p ions h ip? Obvio usly, that's our hope an d o u r pl an. It 's a very difficult task. I think we have a legi timat e shot a t it. I reel co nfident that Scotty can race as good as anybod y. If we guess right a t all the things we have to gue ss ri ght a t, I think we ca n win it, But a nyone wh o 's been n u m ber one ca n be a co nten de r and there' re a bun ch of peo pl e who are good enough to be n u mber one. I don't thmk we're co m fortable in w here we're at, no t w here we ca n say this should a ll go o u r way, 110t at a ll. (Doug) Chandler, Bubba (Sho ber t), Ricky (G ra ha m) - th ey're all very good ra cers with good program s. It 's goi ng lO be a dogfight. Everybody 's ou t there ra ci ng. If we get bea t , we get bea t. Is th e Al\IA doing a good job with dirt track ra cing? I think th e AMA is necessary for the sport. I do n't a lw ays agree wi th a ll the things they do . Ma ybe they think they have the ,riders' best (in terests) at h ea rt, b u t I do n't know. If th e riders had more power in th e AMA - if th ey were represented by a n organization , or had a real voice in the (AMA) - I th ink both th e AMA and th e riders would be bett er served. They are th e lio n 's sha re of th e show a nd th ey have th e lea st con trol o f their destiny. Wh ere th ey're going to rac e a t, how much th ey'r e go ing to race for - someone up th ere is doing a ll th at for th em . If they had a li ttl e m ore clout, th e show would be better a n d every bo dy would b e bette r served. H ow about R.J . Reyn olds a nd the Ca mel Pro Seri es? R.j. Reyn olds is very go od.
