Our next trip is to No. va Scotia. Probably my favorite is traveling through New England. I love the scenery and the beautiful, .winding roads ; there's a surprise . 'around every bend." Bikes currently owned: "I tour on my 650 BMW, and for sport riding, I havea Honda 500 Interceptor, a GPz Kawasaki, and a Harley-Davidson Sportster. I also put a sidecar on a Yamaha and have a lot of fun with that. In the dirt, I ride a IT Yamaha and a Honda ATC." Views on motorcycling: " It's a great sport to get out and enjoy yourself and leave your worries behind. You're free...and it' s nice to have that feeling. It's a thrill to go out and explore the back roads and . . meet nice people.". PHOTO : E.A. BOGARD STUDIO Name: Harry Bleiwise Occupation: President, Rider Insurance Co., Union" New Jersey Company description: "We're unique in the insurance business in that we write in only one stateNew Jersey-and handle primarily one line of business-motorcycles. . We're the largest writer of motorcycle policies in the state. " Riding history: "In 1971, I had never ridden a motorcycle before but was stopped at a traffic light and happened to 'admire the 350 Yamaha stopped next to me. Half an hour later I had bought it and had to have the guy ride it home . for me. The next day I found out that motorcycle insurance was very expensive, tough to get, and that I was treated shabbily, so I started my own insurance company with affordable rates for bikes. We also have the fewest restrictions as far as what kinds of bikes we'll insure, and that's partly because of my own interest in motorcycles and the fact that I identify with them." Riding preference: "You can't beat the friendly atmosphere that exists among people when you're ' touring. I also' like the fact that you can go where you want, when ' you -want, with whom you want. My wife, son, daughter and I often tour together, and we've taken some nice long rides to Florida, Nashville, Niagara Falls, and New- Magazine: "I love MOTORCYCLIST; it's a super magazine. All the others are about the same, they're clones of each other, but MOTORCYCLIST is really different. I particularly enjoy the 'Street Wise' hints from readers and the maintenance articles. The editors are doing it right: MOTORCYcLIsT is easy to read and. you can just relax and enjoy it. I think it's great!" This endorsement is purely voluntary. No fee or other consideration is paid.
