fourth at the beginning of the first moto, shot past Stewart and Bobby Buffington to grab the second spot by motos's end. In the second moto, Parker took the holeshot, but held it for less than a lap, giving up his lead to Thompson. At the end of the first lap, Stewart and Buffington were running neck-and-neck for second. Parker went down in the back section of the track and had to struggle to tty and catch Stewart, but time was too short. Stewart took the runner-up spot in the moto and second overall. Gary Brown and Sean Dillon fought it out for the win in the 250cc ranks. Dillon was the victor in the first moto, but he couldn't catch Brown in the second moto, giving the overall win to Brown. Thomas Dav (Honl: Sellards smokes Meadowlarks MX By Peter Gus AMHERST, OH, JULY 12 Motocross racers returned to the Meadowlarks track in Amherst and the action was hot and· heavy. One racer who made quite a show was Marcus Sellards who easily swept the 125cc B class by winning both heaLS. Marcus rode a Honda loaned to him by his friend and fellow racer Steve Gilland. Another notable racer was Chris Grasso who won twice in the l25cc class, but he didn't have nearly as easy a time as Sellards. He was constantly bothered and sometimes passed by Kurt Kadas and SCOll Bassett. One rider who showed the big boys how to race was Mall Mastsolf, who rode a 60cc Kawasaki to victory in the first heat and second in the next to take the overall victory in the class. Brinkwart LOCKPORT, NY, JULY 12 A field of 45 riders from Canada and New York met in Lockport to ride laVern Bowen's "Rock Pile". Cecil Hollien proved to be the top of the field, as he claimed the Premier class honors. The rocky out-cropping known as the "Rock Pile", contrasts sharply with the surrounding flat lands. Riders had to negotiate sections with loose rock of all shapes and sizes, that chan'ged lines every time they rode through them. Adding to the challenge were temperatures in the 90s and high humidity. .
