D iego Bosis claimed the f irst victory of his young career at the Pennsylvania round of the World Championship Observed Trials Series. Three-time World Champion Eddie Lejeune of France dropped out of the Pennsylvania round after aggravating an old thumb injury. England's Steve Saunders placed sixth aboard a Fantic and is now tied with Bosis for third in the world standings with 93 points each. In 1986 Bosi s com piled 117 world poi nt s ' never pl acing higher than fifth pl ace, but this season he has been climbing steadily in th e standin g and had a firm grip in fourth place go ing int o this event with a 73 point tall y. This win brings him up in pl ace to third with a 93 total following th e series leader Jordi T arres of Spa in , who now totals 102 points, and th e curr en t Michaud of France. . The highest p lacing American was pa st World Champio n Berni e Schreib er in 13th position with 62/ 61/68 for a total of 191. The Fanticmounted Californian was only five points ahead of rising newcomer Ryan Young with is 66/ 63/67 to total 196. Riding o n his turf and questioned before th e start by a local TV station as to his goals, " I just want to gain som e world points today," sai d Schreib er.
