Flores, Nelson top 8aylands MX By Mike Vancil FREMONT , CA, MAY 6 Tony Flores and Jon Nelson eac h reeled off wins in two of the Pro classes at Baylands Wednesday night motocross. Flores LOpped th e 125cc ranks. while Nelson scored th e 250cc Pro di vision victory. Flores grabbed an immediate lead in th e first I25cc Pro m oto as Nel son bad to fig h t o ff Danny Paladino for seco n d. T he to p three spots h eld a ll the way LO th e chec kered flag. with Flores fir st . Nel son sec o n d a n d Paladino th ird. In th e secon d rnoto it was th e sa me story. with Flores leading from startto-finish with Nelson and Paladino in LOw. Nel son trailed Flores and ClayLOn Blood in th e early going in th e first 250cc Pro moto, but Nelson put together a late-moto ch arge that carried him past Blood and Flores for the mota win. In the second mota Flores again led. but Nelson came from behind to reel in Flores and take the win. Nelson took the overall ' class win with his I- I score. with Flores second. G ivin g chase. in th e 125cc Pro even t was Ka wa saki p il o t C hris H ein ri ch whose ret u rn to co mpeti tion th is year has been nothing short o f spectacula r. H einrich battled wi th Yamaha-mounted Colin R yan for th e ru n ner-u p slo t. but th e Kawasaki rider ea rned the seco nd pl ace share o f the cas h as R yan took third a nd H onda ace An dy Northrup pi cked u p fou rt h. The race o f th e day was provided by a four rider dog-fight in th e 250cc Intermediate class.
