Dave Bardell finish ed second with 53 points. Kevin Kunkle was third with Dave Mankey and Ch arlie Clements following. H anfo rd se ttled in for th e seco nd -p lace spot, whi le Yamaha ri der Daniel Fairchi ld pulled off a Lhird-p lace fini sh over Becker who had to be cont ent wit h fourth. , In the second mota, Egl e again took command of the situa tion by taking the lead fro m the start and increasing his lead eac h lap. H an ford again cam e up with th e seco nd sp ot, but this time pressure was app lied heav ily by Becker on his H onda , looking to redeem himself after his disappoi nti ng finish in th e fir st moto. Becker stuc k to H anford like glue the entire race, unti l H anfo rd su ccumbed to Becker 's persistence, when in th e fina l corner, Becker edged pas t H anfo rd to take th e checkers a nd a second-place finish , .wh ile H anford went home a third p lace finish er.
