Also recovering from a fall was Ashcraft, who finished fifth, and Roeseler brought a borrowed 125cc Suzuki home in sixth overall. "This is one of Dirt Bike magazine's test bikes," Roeseler explained. "r quit Husky and I'm working for Dirt Bike now, so I borrowed the bike to try it out." Roeseler reportedly is negotiating with Kawasaki for a factory ride. . Roeseler was chased 'in by Yamaha-mounted Parry, who battled with him for most of the second loop. Eighth overall. despite five bailoHs, w.ent to 250cc pilot Cartwright, . who inherited the position after McDonald ran out of gas with just five miles to go. McDonald's mishap left the way open for Steve Garner of the Lost Coyotes M.C. to overall the' Vet division on an Open class Honda (lOth overall). First in the Amateur division went to West, who led the Amateur pack all the way and finished a'high ninth in the overall standings. West's nearest competition was Ron Lewis of the Rovers M.C., not far behind in II th overall. The Vet 250cc win went to Scott Anderson; So Cal M.e. 's Ron Hall overalled the Senior division; Dick Myer took first in the Open Senior class; and Jack Froelich claimed a wire-to-wire win in the Super Senior class.
