Miko Denney. Sawyer, Marshall battle at MonfroseMX By Gary Crider FAYETTEVILLE, NC, MAR. I David Sawyer topped the 125500cc Novice division with a pair of moto wins after a close battle with runner-up Todd Marshall at Montrose MX. The event was round five in the Southeastern MX Association's six-race ·4th Annual Carolina Winter MX Series. The opening moto of 125-500cc Novice racing saw Sawyer win by a wide margin after initial challenger Roy Williamson crashed on the first lap. Marshall moved up to .finish second. Sawyer showed the way again in moto two but a spill in the whoops section ~ve the lead to Marshall. Their WInner-lake-all battle for the lead continued until the last lap when Marshall stalled his bike.
