Spring sloshed his way through the mud to winii> in the 125 and 250cc C classes. The first 250cc C moto saw Kawasaki pilot Tim Hackett haul his way into the lead. leaving Scott Lewis. Alan McComb. Chad Egge and Spring to squabble over second. Hackett manhandled his bike through the slop to win moto one. ahead of Spring and Egge. The second moto saw Spring holding down the lead in the early pllrt of the race. First moto winner Hackett had his share of troubles maneuvering .in the slick conditions and finished in 10th. Spring took top honors in moto two. good enough for the overall win with a 2-1 score. Second place fell to Suzuki-mounted Egge and third went to Lewis. Spring came back to lead the first 125cc Cclass moto. putting his Kawasaki into sole possession of the number one spot. Spring held oU local riders Terry Davis and Chad Berry to win the moto. In the second moto, Berry got the nod for the moto win. Berry's first moto third gave him second overall, Spring capped o££ the day with another second place, good enough for first overall. Davis posted 2-3 finishes for third. . Tony Graves also took two·class wins, topping the 125 and 250cc B classes. Curt Cunningham was Graves' closest.competition but his 2-2 rides were only good enough for runner-up honors behind Graves. In 250cc 13 action, Cunningham and Graves again clashed. The two rival banged bars throughout both mOlos, but Graves prevailed in the end. Graves again used I-I finishes to top this class. while Cunningham again was relegated to second overall. Steve Williams took third overall with a 3-4 score. Dana Hansen recently moved up to the 30-40 class ranks and he rode two solid motos, to take top honors in the 30-40 Pro class. Hansen trailed Jack George in moto one for second. but came back to convincingly thrash moto two' for the overall win..Second went to George with Ken Kulluson taking third. Results OPEN B: 1. Jensen jams at Clark County AX By Derryl Anderson RIDGEFIELD, WA, FEB. 13 Portland Honda-sponsored Ed Jensen went I-I tonight to claim the overall in the 125cc B class of the arenacross held at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Ridgefield. In no way was the win easy for Jensen as Honda support rider, Darren Rogers was all over his rear fender trying to find an opening. In moto one Jensen bagged the holeshot followt;d closely by Rogers, Tim Wiles, Nick Blasdell, Jason Schiele and Robert Van Lorn. Coming down the backstretch Rogers pulled up even with Jensen. but Jensen maintained the advantage around the left-hander. Lap after lap the lead duo ran this way while Blasdell was allover Wiles for the third spot. On lap four Rogers got under Jensen and Blasdell went around Wiles for third.
