runaway wins in 250cc Amateur racing while Billy Howell and Eric Rogers raced wheel-to-wheel for second spot in both moLOS. Howell held the edge in moLO two and finished 3-2 over Rogers' 2-3LO take second overall. The I25-500cc ovice Division first moto saw poim leader Michael Hix lead the way from start to fini h. Billy Reel started in about 20th spot but managed a second place finish. Hix failed LO get his usual holeshot in moLO two and spent the first two laps working his way LO the front. Meanwhile, Reel was urging his Barr's Competition-tuned Kawasaki through traffic after a 15th place start. With three laps remaining, Reel moved imo third. On the next lap, Reel flew pa t Hix on the uphill jump section and held on for the win LO claim top honor over Hix and David Sawyer. Results 65 MINI: 1. Zack Bradshaw (Kaw); 2. Hoover, Frisz tops 'em at Dade By Athie Sanders DADE CITY, FL, FEB. 8 Doug Hoover nailed double moto wins to claim the overall victory in both the 250cc and Open Semi Pro classes, while Jeff Frisz took top honors in the I25cc Semi Pro- class with back-to-back wins. It all happened during the second round of the Yamaha- ponsored, WorldSporLS-organized Florida February eries at Dade Ci ty Raceway. Edmund Swearinger was fa test off the line at the stan of the fir t 250cc Semi Pro moLO but was soon pa sed up by Hoover. John Reinholt sliced his way LO second but couldn't reel in the leader. Mike LaRocco kept the pressure on Reinholt, finishing third ahead of John hay. Hoover hooked the holeshot in moLO two leading Shay, Jon Agin, Swearinger and Reinholt inLO the first turn. Agin went down, giving Hoover a chance LO pull away and soar out from alone. Reinholt closed on the leader late in the niOLO, but bounced out of a turn, losing all <;hances to take over the lead. hay rode a distam third, finishing before Swearinger and LaRocca. Yamaha-mounted Scooter Stafford jumped out from at the start of the first Open emi Pro moLO, but was following Hoover as they came out of the back section of the track. The two leaders pulled slightly away, spaced themselves out, and left the action behind them. wearinger pa sed up Ted Van est to finish third behind Stafford. Tim Ealy shot out front in moto two, while Alan Crum and VanNest flew end-over-end in a first turn crash. Hoover came through turn two in sixth. He battled his way imo third within two laps and claimed fir t by the end of the moLO. Ealy held omo' second and tafford followed in third. Frisz and McElroy swapped the lead back and forth at the start of the second moLO. Frisz carne out the vicLOr as they headed to the back section. Mann joined them and the three pulled away.
