Huston, George honored at TrailWay Banquet By Len Breech CAMP HILL, PA, JAN. 17 Led by double Expert class winner, Robert Huston in motocro s and Eric George in shan track, Trail-Way Speedway honored competitors at their 14th Annual Awards Banquet, held this year in the spacious Penn Harris Inn and Convention Cemer. While most of the 120 trophies wem to the fIat trackers and motocrossers, awards also went to top poim gellers in mud bog and enduro stock car classes that al 0 compete at the Trail-Way. While no official Rider of the Year award was presented this year. George and HusLOn would have shared the honor. Huston was the only moLOcrosser to win two lasses, taking the always competitive 250ccAand Open A cla,ses. by almost double the poims of the runner-up in both classes, Michael Moore. George just edged out Dale Ging-rich LO ta ke the 250cc class, w hill' he had a large cushion over runner-up Rob Majeski in the 500cc Expen divi ion. In addition to that, he finished second to older brother fax in the 750cc Ex pen clas despite competing in it for only the second half of the St"4.lson. Dement cruised to six mOLD wjns for the weekend. with victories in both moLOS in the Mini SLOck 7-11, Mini Junior, and Mini Mini classes. Schellenberger snagged wins in the 125cc Intermediate, l25cc Stock Intermediate, 250cc Stock Intermediate and 250cc Intermediate classes. teve Olson gave OemI'm some competition in the Mini Juniorclass. Olson hungon LO Demem's rear fender in the second moto for aboUl four laps, then OemI'm finally broke away and motored to the victorv. In big bike competition Schellenberger was totalJy dominant, leading every lap but one en route LO his eight maLO wins. Someof the best racing came in the 125cc Imermediate class where 15year-old Schellenberger smoked the competition. The race behind hjm was furious, with Jim MOrlin, Jeff Kline and Mall Chapa dicing in both moLOS for second. In maLO one Chapa had second place secured until he pulled off on the white flag lap, letting MOrlin by for second. . In moLO number two the trio of Monin, Kline, and Chapa switched places half a dozen times, and finally Kline emerged in second behind Schellenberger at the flag, followed closely by Mortin and Chapa. Schellenberger had no problem adj usting to his 250, as he won both the Intermediate and Intermediate Stock classes. However, in moLO two of the Stock class Charlie Brown looked like he was going to pull off an upset, but after one lap Schellenberger made his one and only pass of the weekend, then pulled away LO his usual lead.
