AX By Derryl Anderson RIDGEFIELD, WA, JA . 16 Honda-mounted Kurt Stevens edged out Chris Clark for the overall win in the 250cc B class at Clark County Fairgrounds today, for the opening round of the Arenacross Motorcycle Series. In the first moto, Stevens stole the holeshot ahead of Brian Hall, Clark, Todd Devore, Mike Hickman and Mike Anderson. Hall was all over Stevens lap after lap but couldn't find an opening. Twenty yards back was Clark and Devore. Stevens and Hall eventually enlarged their advantage over the rest of the pack to about 60 yards by the time the checkered flag appeared, so at the finish it was Stevens taking the win followed by Clark, Hickman, Devore and Anderson. In the final moto, Town Center Yamaha's Hickman nailed the holeshot ahead of Stevens, Hall, Clark, Devore and Anderson. By the second lap, Stevens had taken the lead away from Hickman and went on to an eventual 30-yard lead on the pack. On lap four, Devore went down and restarted in last place. Hickman had a decent-size lead over Hall and Devore, followed a ways back by Clark. At the finish it was Stevens, Hickman, Hall, Clark, Anderson and Devore. Ken Fuller grabbed the holeshot in the first l25cc C moto while Shawn Colangelo, Jeff Ossman, Wayne Horne and Tricia Lyons pursued. During the second lap, Ossman slid under Colangelo for second place. Positions remained much the same down to the wire with Fuller winningoverOssman, Colangelo, Horne and Lyons.. In their final outing, Colangelo clawed his way through the whoops and into the lead followed by Fuller, 0ssman and Lyons. Colangelo gradually built up a 20-yard lead which he kept right down to the finish ahead of Fuller, Ossman and Lyons.
