saw Kawasaki-mounted jeff Hoppner holeshot and win easily over Mall Smith, Alexander White and Darcy DeCosta, all on Yamahas. Smith and White put on an excellent show for the SpectaLOrs, swapping positions and dicing the entire race. Roloff won the class champion hip, with Dave Morris second, Michael Graves third and Calvin Rayborn III fourth. Birgit Soyka, the a LOundingly quick female rider from West Germany, sewed up the 450cc Modiiied Production title wi th her fifth place finish on the john Lassig-tuned Yamaha 350. Soyka turned in a gutsy performance, riding and finishing the race with a broken hand suffered earlier in practice that morning. Roddy Rodstein won the event with Tony Matthews second and .Alan Fernandez third; all were aboard Yamahas. The Open Superstreet race saw the return of Dave Emde LO competition. Suzuki GSXR 11 OO-mounted Emde won easily over second place finisher Dave Mallory and Kenny Kopecky, both also aboard Suzuki llOOs. Kopecky won the Open Supersrreettitle with his third place finish with john Rosenberg second overall and Chris Mallory th ird for the year. Cycle Magazine's Daniel Cae, aboard his Phil hilling-tuned Rotax, walked away with the Formula Two honors and made it look rather easy. TZ250-moumed john Glover ended up second with Todd Rawson third. Cae reportedly will compete in the 250ccGrand Prix class (formerly titled Formula Two) at DayLOna this spring, and should do well if his machinery can go the distance. Earl Smith, president of the ARRA, feels that 1986 was a good year, both for his club and for club racing in general. Smith would like LO thank Dave Alexson of IRJ Incorporated Insurance Co. for making ARRA racing possible in '86 by increasing the club's coverage and lowering premiums at the same time. ARRA's first race of the '87 season will be held on january 31stat Willow Springs International Raceway in Rosamond, California.
